Flight B -- Double Trouble
Flight B ran their first test which was named “Double
Trouble." This is a land triple with a blind using all pheasants, ending with an
honor. The Judges for Flight B are Bruce Bachert and Michelle Love. The name
was derived from the fact that the blind runs under the arc of two separate
birds. When the handler comes to the line, in front and just to the right, a
gun station calls for the ducks and throws to the left. Deeper in the field, in
front of the line, is a “Mom & Pop” well-brushed station. The bird on the
right is thrown to the right, landing under the arc of the short, right-hand
bird. The bird on the left is shot to the left and is a pheasant flyer. When
the handler retrieves all three birds, he then runs the blind. The line to the
blind is under the arc under both right-hand birds, deep of the long gun
station. The test is taking between six and eight minutes per dog.
