Flight D -- Butterfly Slots
Flight D ran their first test which was named “Butterfly
Slots” with Judges Rich Pyka and Mike Jespersen. The test is a land triple with a
blind and an honor using all pheasants. The Scenario for this test is that you
were out for the day hunting pheasants and came to a spot to rest and then the
guns started going off. This is a triple with an out-of-order flyer. The first
bird down is the middle bird thrown to the left. The next bird is a left-hand
flyer shot to the left. The handler must then swing back to a long right-hand
bird, thrown to the right. The line to the blind for this stake is through a
slot of trees located off the backside of the middle gun. When the three birds
have been completed, there is an honor to the right of the line. The time for
this test is between five and eight minutes.
